Collecting with Passion: Javier’s Special Connection With Eeveelutions
Javier’s journey into the world of Pokémon collecting is deeply rooted in nostalgia, with core memories dating back to his childhood experiences with Pokémon SoulSilver and later with Pokémon GO.
His favorite Pokémon has always been Vaporeon, one of the beloved Eeveelutions, and this passion naturally led him to the world of Pokémon TCG.

In 2021, when Eevee Heroes was released, Javier couldn’t resist the allure of the Eeveelutions set. One memory that stands out for him is how he would save half of his weekly allowance just to buy one booster box.
The main chase card for many was Umbreon, but for Javier, it was all about Vaporeon V AA. His affection for this Pokémon began with his first Pokémon game, Pokémon Black 2, on his Nintendo DS, where he was fascinated by Eevee’s ability to evolve into multiple forms.
Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on his side when he opened the booster box – instead of Vaporeon, he pulled a Leafeon V AA.
Eventually, he purchased the Vaporeon single from Carousell, completing his quest for the card he so dearly wanted. That experience marked his “virgin box degen moment,” as he jokingly puts it, even if it meant sacrificing a bit to get there.

The Charizard SAR God Pack Surprise while in Japan
Another one of Javier’s most memorable experiences as a collector took place during a trip to Japan with friends after finishing his A-levels.
While exploring Akihabara, they stumbled upon a mystery Pokémon card Gacha vending machine, sparking an idea to break a box of cards in the land of Pokémon.
They purchased a Japanese 151 booster box and opened it at their Airbnb, where they were thrilled to pull a god pack that included a Charizard SAR.
Javier later had the Charizard graded by Concept Grading, and it received a perfect PSA 10 grade, making it one of his prized possessions.
On the Hunt for Eeveelutions and Vintage Gems
Beyond his love for Pokémon cards, Javier’s collecting interests also extend to Marvel comic books, vintage toys, and Tomica car model diecasts. These diverse hobbies reflect his broader appreciation for nostalgia and pop culture, adding variety to his growing collection.
As he continues to nurture his passion, Javier is currently on the hunt for more Eeveelutions, particularly Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon. His ultimate goal is to complete a set of sequential slabs, each featuring one of his favorite Eeveelutions.
In addition to this, he’s eager to explore more vintage singles and slabs, further expanding his collection and deepening his connection to the world of collecting.
